<p>&#160;&#160;&#160; For SharePoint 2007, the directory is&#58; <span style="color&#58;#4c8dcf;text-decoration&#58;underline;"><em style="text-decoration&#58;underline;">C&#58;\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\Resources</em></span></p>
<p>&#160;&#160;&#160; For SharePoint 2013, the directory is&#58; <span style="color&#58;#4c8dcf;text-decoration&#58;underline;"><em style="text-decoration&#58;underline;">C&#58;\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\Resources</em></span></p>
<p>2. Then locate the file&#58; <span style="color&#58;#4c8dcf;">SPB.SharePointBoost.PasswordReset.UI.resx , <span style="color&#58;#15314e;">and open with <strong>Visual studio</strong></span></span></p>
<p>3. In the resouce file, find the property&#58;</p>
<p>&#160;&#160; UserCustomEmailValidation_ConfirmEmailBody</p>
<p>&#160;&#160; UserCustomEmailValidation_EmailBody</p>

<p>4. Change the related value to the one desired.</p>
<p>Please note that, for multiple language environment, the file name in Step 2 would be like <span style="color&#58;#4c8dcf;">SPB.SharePointBoost.PasswordReset.UI.de-DE.resx</span> or <span style="color&#58;#4c8dcf;">SPB.SharePointBoost.PasswordReset.UI.en-US.resx </span>, all the related language resx file need to be modified. Also, for multiple WFE server environment, same procedure should be done in each server.</p>

<p>​After changing user&#8217;s logon name in AD, the user get &quot;<strong>User does not exist</strong>&quot; erorr, when&#160;a user tries to reset his own password. The username and password&#160; are correct as the user is obviously able to log into SharePoint.</p>

<p><strong>Reason&#58;</strong></p>
<p>The user information list still stores the old information in short period after changing the AD properties. The Password Reset works based on the user information list, so the error shows up when the user try to reset password.</p>
<p><strong>Solution&#58;</strong></p>
<p>The user information list will update automatically later, so after refreshing, the user will be able to reset password.</p>
<p><strong>OR</strong></p>
<p><span style="color&#58;#1c4269;"><strong></strong>To upldate the User inforamtion list <span style="text-decoration&#58;underline;">manually</span>.</span></p>

<li><span style="color&#58;#1c4269;">Please make sure that the <strong>SMTP </strong>settings of Password Reset (not Password Change) has been configured correctly in the settings page. Because the product support only customized SMTP settings but not the SharePoint one.</span></li>
<li><span style="color&#58;#1c4269;">In <strong>Custom SMTP settings</strong>, selected <em>&#8216;Default </em><em>authentication&#8217; </em>type which is the windows authentication method. Change it to &#8216;Custom authentication&#8217; may solve the issue.</span></li>
