Solution:

Please split the values with “; ” in Excel spreadsheet and then try toimport to the lookup column.

How to send notification emails to updated email addresses?

Whenusing Password Change Web Part, the expiration notification emails are alwayssent to the older email addresses. How can I fix it?

Solution:

Firstly, please navigate to All People page (http://siteurl/_layouts/15/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0) to check the user’s email address and ensure the address is updated in this list.

If you already change the user’s email address in active directory, and the changes is not updated to SharePoint, please try this PowerShell command line to update the changes.

Get-SPUser -Web http://web-app-url | Set-SPUser –SyncFromAD

Always get error message “The password does not meet the password complexity policy requirements.” when change password?

When I try to change his password using Password Change Web Part, I alwayserror message “The password does not meet the password complexity policy requirements.”,even the new password meet the policy. How can I fix it?

Solution:

Firstly, please check the user account in application pool and ensure the account has the permission to change password in Active Directory. We recommend you to add this account to domain admin group. (Because Password Change web part uses this account to connect active directory and change password.)

Then, if the first way failed. Please check if these updates installed on your SharePoint server.

Or is there any error message like "…remote calls to the SAM database have been denied…" in the event viewer.

If so, please allow Domain Users to access the remote SAM database on SharePoint server as the picture below.

This is a known issue for Microsoft SharePoint.

When I export data of Cross-Site Lookup column to Excel, there are someadditional characters. How to remove them?

Solution:

Please go to Central Administration > Application Management > Manage Web Applications, select the corresponding web application and click Manage Features on ribbon, then activate the Cross-Site Lookup Data Adapter feature.

Typical log error but product running fine

There are the log errors but the product works fine, and the error message is pretty much like the following ones:

Solution:

Run this tool by administrator, after that, choose the site and list, on the right hand, click the button "delete all invalid".

Column/View Permission Malfunction

After the installation, either the Column Permission or View Permission doesn’t work at all, the permission doesn’t take effect.

Solution:

There are 5 possible reasons:

1. Check if the Column/View Permission is deployed to the current web application (under Central Administration page -> System Settings -> Manage Farm Solutions)

2. Check if the Column/View Permission feature is activated in site collection features page in which the site collection the product will be used.

3. Permission won’t take effect for Site Collection Admin, please make sure you log on SharePoint as a normal users (not Site Collection Admin).

4. Check if the ‘Site Actions’ is hidden in your master page, or any customization has been made that affect the ‘Site Actions’ button.

5. The product does not work with compatible mode. For example, SharePoint 2010 with V3 mode, that means you work with SharePoint 2010, but the User Interface looks like SharePoint 2007. The same as the SharePoint 2013 with SharePoint 2010 User Interface.

How to Set Up Multiple View Permission Parts

There are two views in the employee list:
View 1: all employees, everyone can see the contact information in the list.
View 2: HR department users, they can see the contact information and salary in the current list.

Goal: Employees from other departments should not see the salary column.

Solution:

Set a view permission part 1 for all employees’ group excludes the HR department, set view 2 as Hidden.
Set another view permission part 2 for HR, set view 2 with Full Access.

Result: The goal is successfully achieved.

Picture is not showing on SharePoint

I have mapped the picture (thumbnailphotoattribute) to a column, but the picture does not show after synchronization.

Solution:

Please check the settings below:

1. The pictures will be attached to list items during synchronization, you must to enable Attachment feature in the list.

2. If you have mapped thumbnailphoto to a Hyperlink or Picture column, make sure the Format URL as option is set to Picture.
