<p>First of all, please make sure if the product has been installed from the server side. Then follow the steps below to trouble shoot this issue.</p>
<p>Related solution hasn’t been deployed to Central Administration where License Manager is running.</p>
<p>To solve the issue, please go to <span style="text-decoration&#58;underline;">Central Administration -&gt; System Settings -&gt; Manage farm solutions </span>to find and deploy the product’s wsp file(which is related to the error) to Central Administration.</p>

<p>​An error message shows in the solution page when deploying another solutions, in this case it&#8217;s <strong>Column/View Permission Lite</strong>&#58;</p>
<p><span style="color&#58;red;"><em>Cannot add the specified assembly to the global assembly cache&#58; SharePointBoost.ColumnViewPermisson.dll</em></span></p>

<p><br/><b>Solution:</b> </br>
<div class="ExternalClass7CEE540F87EE44B5BB8C450AD0E847D6">
<p>This is due to the previous installed product &#8212; Column/View Permission was not fully removed from the environment, when installing the Column/View Permission Lite, the error message shows.</p>
<p><strong>The solution is&#58;</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>to delete the&#160;dll mentioned in the error message&#160;&#8217;SharePointBoost.ColumnViewPermisson.dll&#8217; from gac directory(<em>c&#58;/windows/assembly</em>)</li>
<li>or retract wsp with stsadm</li>
</ul>
<p>After the above procedure, <strong>deploy </strong>the solutions of <span><span>Column/View Permission</span></span> Lite manually in <strong>Central Administration</strong>.</p>
<p>This issue might occur on the upgrading procedure for all products, the solutions can be applied for similar issues. Normally restart <strong>IIS </strong>or <strong>timer job </strong>would clear the incorrect dll from system, otherwise, we can delete the dll manually and run the setup again.</p>
