Every week, I have to report the task status to my manager. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Obviously, it is inefficient to copy tasks data to the document and send the report to my manager. So, I decide to create the weekly report by Document Maker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">And here is how I did it\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">The Task Records list contains these information, title, start date, end date, priority and Status.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6998\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-1.png\" alt=\"DM-1\" width=\"546\" height=\"339\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Steps to happen<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">1. Enter Document Maker settings page in Task Records list, and create a template.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">2. In the word template, insert the list field as following:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6999\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-2.png\" alt=\"DM-2\" width=\"577\" height=\"197\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Insert [Today] in the Report Date field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Insert [Me] in the Reported by field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Insert [Title], [Start Date], [End Date], [Priority] and [Status] fields in the task table.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">And then select [Title], [Start Date], [End Date], [Priority] and [Status] fields and click <strong>Mark Repeat Area<\/strong> in the <strong>Document Maker<\/strong> tab. This command enables to insert multiple items in the table.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">3. And next, create a rule for generating document.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Firstly specify a name for this rule, and select the Weekly Report document as the template document. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-3.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7000\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-3.png\" alt=\"DM-3\" width=\"701\" height=\"129\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">And secondly select the date format and specify PDF as the output type.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-4.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7001\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-4.png\" alt=\"DM-4\" width=\"597\" height=\"140\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Thirdly, enable Merged Document Generation option. Select this function is going to generate one document using multiple task items.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">And fourthly, specify the name rule as \u201cWeekly Report-[Today]-[Me]\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-5.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7002\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-5.png\" alt=\"DM-5\" width=\"707\" height=\"171\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Fifthly, select a document library to save the generated documents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-6.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7003\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-6.png\" alt=\"DM-6\" width=\"687\" height=\"97\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Finally, click OK to save configurations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">4. And now let\u2019s return to Task Records list and generate a weekly report.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Select all tasks in one week, and click<strong> Generate a Merged Document<\/strong> command.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Here a dialog appears and click Generate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-7.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7004\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-7.png\" alt=\"DM-7\" width=\"660\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Segoe UI; font-size: small;\">Now a weekly report is generated as following.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-8.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7005\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boostsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DM-8.png\" alt=\"DM-8\" width=\"612\" height=\"314\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a task list which monitors tasks status and manages risks.
