This SharePoint feature provides storage and mapping of credentials such as account and password so that you do not need to login again when you access portal site-based applications such as Custom Relations Management (CRM) system.<\/p>\n

Its configuration includes the following five parts<\/span>:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Enable the Service on the SharePoint Server<\/li>\n
  2. Manage Server Settings<\/li>\n
  3. Manage Encryption Key(s)<\/li>\n
  4. Manage the Settings for Enterprise Application Definitions<\/li>\n
  5. Manage the Account Information for Enterprise Application Definitions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Enable the Service on the SharePoint Server<\/h2>\n

    The first step is to start the SSO service or else other configuration cannot be processed.<\/p>\n

    (1) Login to the SharePoint server.<\/p>\n

    (2) Click the “Start<\/strong>” button, select All Programs -> Administrations Tools -> Click Services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    <\/a>(3) Find the “Microsoft Single Sign-on Service<\/strong>” and click it.<\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    <\/a>(4) Confirm that the “Startup Type<\/strong>” is Automatic.<\/p>\n

    (5) Click the “Start<\/strong>” button.<\/p>\n

    Note<\/span><\/strong>: Do not forget to enable the service in all WFEs (web-front end).<\/p>\n

    2. Manage Server Settings<\/h2>\n

    (1) Go to Central Administration > Operations > Manage Sign-On<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    <\/a>(2) The original error “Failed to connect to Microsoft Single Sign-On Service. To configure, please ensure the service is running.<\/span><\/strong>” will disappear.<\/p>\n

    (3) Click “Manage server settings<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

    (4) Type the Single Sign-On Administrator Account<\/strong> and Enterprise Application Definition Administrator Account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Note<\/span><\/strong>: The two accounts is that they have enough permission.<\/p>\n

    (5) They need meet these three conditions they must be a member of the same domain to which SSO service account belong and a member of domain administrator group and have the permission to create database.<\/p>\n

    (6) Here, I set china\\administrator as the administrators account. Other settings such as Database Settings, Time Out Settings can keep unchanged.<\/p>\n

    3. Manage Encryption Key(s)<\/h2>\n

    (1) Open the Manage Encryption Key<\/strong> page.<\/p>\n

    (2) Click the “Create Encryption Key<\/strong>” button.<\/p>\n

    (3) Check the “Re-encrypt all credentials by using the new encryption key<\/strong>” checkbox.<\/p>\n

    <\/a>(4) Click the “OK<\/strong>” button.<\/p>\n

    Note<\/span><\/strong>: Refer to the related description on the Manage Encryption Key<\/strong> page to complete restore and backup.<\/p>\n

    4. Manage the Settings for Enterprise Application Definitions<\/h2>\n

    (1) Click Manage Settings for Enterprise application definitions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    (2) Select “New Item<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

    <\/a>(3) Specify a Display name<\/strong>, an Application name<\/strong> and a Contact e-mail address<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    (4) Select Account type<\/strong>, Authentication type<\/strong> and set the Logon Account Information<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    <\/a>5. Manage the Account Information for Enterprise Application Definitions<\/h2>\n

    (1) Select the Enterprise application definition<\/strong> from the drop-down list and type the account name you want to change.<\/p>\n

    (2) Click the “Set<\/strong>” button to save the current settings and not exit.<\/p>\n

    (3) If the configurations are complete, click the “Done<\/strong>” button to exit from the page.<\/p>\n
